How much watts do i need for a Intel i5 4690k and a MSI gtx 970 1 HDD and 1 odd

My speakers dont even fit on or under my desk...PA's FTW

500 will be enough with room for upgrades.

maxwell is very efficient.

550w-600W IMO, in case you want to SLI

Power supply wattage is not everything either. You need to make sure the power supply actually DELIVERS on its claims, and that most of the power goes to the +12V rail(s).

the 900-series is very power efficient, so I think you should be fine with a 500w PSU

400W will easily run it but you might want to grab something around 600W just in case you want to run SLI in the future.

Yea make sure you get a decent one with proper rails, surge protection etc

Here's an old topic but the top part is a good read

 

550-600W is probably good. I'm going for a Corsair CX600M 600W for my next build containing a 970
