Are these good cpu temps?

Go to solution Solved by i_build_nanosuits,

not at all i touch the 212 evo and its only slightly warm to the touch and it does not throttle down when i stress test it, it works just fine

then you should just stop thinking about it and call it a day...come back if your computer start rebooting under load for no reasons ;)

I know i have asked this question time and time again but this time i found something that works.

Because i have been having temperature problems on my current build or so i thought.

Every program that i checked my cpu temps said about the same thing, 70 degrees on idle.

But i found this old program called Speedfan and it gave me a different and more realistic Temperature.

Here are the temps:

And here's my setup for reference

please download HWmonitor and use that to monitor temps and fanspeeds instead!

LOL

HWmonitor says that its at 70 Celsius will its at iddle with a 212 evo on it so which one do you beleve

HWmonitor never lied to me...what CPU and motherboard are you using...i know for a fact that AMD temp probes can be damaged very easily from overheating/overvolting

I've always used this cpu at stock clock and voltage so most likely it cant be damaged by over-volt or overheating

correct...in that case i'd try a google search and see if others with the same CPU/motheboard combo have had the same issues regarding temps readings...but you can also just ignore it as all the modern CPU's will shut down your machine and reboot when a temps threshold is reached...you can,t really damage anything nowadays unless you wan't to.

do you feel like the CPU is running really hot? does it throttle down when you stress test it for example?

the 212 is a good enough CPU cooler capable of cooling down any chips at stock speed and voltages and can overclock them a good amount...you shouldnt worry too much about temps if you're cpu is not highly overclocked...your machine seems to have good enough airflow as well.

Why not Speedfan? I'm using it now and it's pretty accurate except for a few temps. It works perfect. I've tried HWMonitor, and I didn't really like it.

HWmonitor is so complete...it monitor so much things it's the perfect monitoring software...temps, fan speeds, voltages, loads...it has everything built in and is very accurate.

Well so does Speedfan, especially fan speeds, since that's really the point of the program, hence the name Speedfan.
