Cooling the Oppo R5

Hey guys, as some of you may know, the Oppo R5 is the thinnest smartphone around at the moment. To cool this device, Oppo used a PCM or phase-change material. They describe the material by saying "Our phase-shifting material is made of metal, resin and other composite materials. When heat is generated, the material begins to change. This material not only absorbs any heat; it also radically improves thermal efficiency."

 

I was wondering, what material would they have used for this and what happens to the heat that this material stores?

Its called a Cool Element, Oppo havent realeased any info about it yet afais

Also I wouldn't worry about the CPU heat in that phone, that's a tiny area, the battery however will probably be insanely hot.

It's probably the same idea, just combinations of materials and variations on design, but like I said cooling cpu is not my concern with that phone, the battery is more scary.

Let's say you wanted to spread heat from a battery onto something else.

It will spread to the chassis on it's own and the phone will get hot no need for anything.
