Build quality.....

100%.

A trusted brand name is exactly that. No point in going so dirt cheap that your expensive components get fried and you end up spending a hell of a lot more replacing everything.

Because non-brand names dont have a good reputation for high quality parts and customer service.

non brand components are more likely to fail because they use cheap components

also they are less likely to give you a replacement when it DOES fail

Why are most peop[le afraid to use non brand name items... To me it seems that a lot of people when they want to make a cheaper build, still tend to go and try to get name brand instead of getting the non name brand for cheaper?

have you ever tried to RMA something from a no-name?

try it and you'll understand why.

It depends. I for one went with Seasonic power supply because most other companies use a seasonic in their own shell with their own fans, so why not just get one from the primary manufacturer?

When you're putting your system on the back of a component like a PSU, you want a reliable product with a proven track record because you're spending your hard-earned (or not for a lot of lazy people) money on your system. Brand names provide this assurance.

Good point... BUt what if they want it cheaper.... why not?

Because when you go dirt cheap and get a shitty product that messes up and fries the rest of your system, you just ended up spending a hell of a lot more than you would have if you had just spent a little more in the beginning.

Name brand parts are also more commonly reviewed. I wouldn't have a problem purchasing something that wasn't well known but had a decent amount of views saying it's a reputable product. Unfortunately no name brands and reviews don't normally go together very well.

There is also something to be said for name brands having better support than some random X brand who might not have any support or warranty.
