Are there any benchmarks on copper tubing?

I was wondering just out of curiosity if there are any benchmarks on copper tubing loops against acrylic or flexible tubing.

 

Also has anyone tried a loop with copper from the hardware store?

Doesn't make a difference temp wise & all the copper we use for loops is from the hardware store. It's what I use in my personal machine.

The water moves too fast over a small surface area to get any noticible temp difference from copper pipes.

It's entirely asthetic

1. That would look really sexy, if you preserve the shine. 2. I guess it could help, because water also cooled off when running through a house copper pipe.
