Yes, you read that title right like I did. Even asked AMD on twitter if that was correct. Onlytging is its for Laptops though. Im just curious if they are making the same chipsset for the desktop. Think this might happen for the desktop? Id post a link but wont let me paste from my phone. It is from the AMD websitr.

I've added the source to the original post. Let's discuss the APU itself.

It's not a real FX you know that right? FX chips don't have iGPU's and this one does. This is just a APU that's been renamed to fool people into thinking it's some kind of performance part. In addition that link shows an HP laptop so if it's actually an HP model then it will be a huge pile of shit as HP's consumer grade laptops have woefully inadequate cooling. Combine that with hot running AMD hardware you have the perfect recipe for a system that can't do anything because it's thermally throttling itself to 20% of it's rated speed.

Still not very big news. It was part of the mobile Kaveri launch, just wasn't implemented up until now.

The results tomshardware got are encouraging, obviously not the best options if you need the physics/logic but for general users its geared for better performance.  could prove to be a really good long lasting platform for owners.  I look forward to seeing power consumption and thermal analysis on laptops that carry this FXAPU, may buy it if "the qaun"(ref Jerry Maguire) lines up while still offering the cost benefits.

When the desktop FX series is refreshed with the new Zen architecture I really hope AMD makes all the models into APUs.

They need to push their HSA agenda and increase adoption. How can you convince software guys to support it if your own CPUs don't...
