Pre orders in a nut shell. yea this is pretty mush how it goes. its more crappy for console gamers. but even the pc side to has it some times (super rare tho )

The problem when you pre-order is that you're putting your faith into the company that their product is as they market it. Yes, often enough it will be fine, but you're letting the wolf guard the hen house.

 

And yes, I do believe this goes for hardware as much as for games, though games are where the pre-order culture has been built up and pushed so heavily.

There are exceptions I can tolerate and justify when others pull the trigger but I don't personally preorder them. 

For example, Witcher 3 preorders I can understand and I can barely await the game myself but I will still not preorder out of principle.

There is Deus Ex too. If anyone spends a weekend watching all of the director's cut of Human Revolution, it becomes obvious how much they care about what they release.

 

Still, I don't preorder because it will eventually lead to a path that's very negative for gaming.

Pre-ordering has become a no-no topic for me. Seeing all the disappointing releases and players who regret their purchase nowadays. The last game I have pre-ordered would be Battlefield 4, and everyone knows how that has been. Sure it's good fun, but the controversy was huge. (that and maybe Star Citizen, but I don't see that as pre-ordering).

Generally i don't preorder, but its all a little too convenient that videogame reviewers and critics don't want you to buy a game before you have a chance to watch/read their review of it.
