Building a new rig. Buying parts tomorrow. Need feedback.

H4X3R

And also sorry to burst this bubble. The only cooler that is able to compare to the d14/d15, minus aio's, is one of the higher end phanteks cooling. Actually the higher end phanteks cooler, is better, and much nicer fans colours.

Perhaps, but the 612 v2 still offers great value here in austria.

Lel, just a big house w/ pool n ACs. Power in austria is expensive because we make 90% of it using dams (rivers from mountains) and also the danube.

Use the link i provided. The german pcp is way off. In austria there is more tax.

Also, explain how it is unbalanced.

cooling and psu

Cooling perhaps, but like shown in the review it does a good job and i wont be OCing it very high anyway. PSU is fine, as explained previously. Just because its an X99 build doesnt mean i need 700W+. The gpu is very efficient and i wont be adding a second one any time soon.

so if you have two pools or aat least on now you couldn't pay the extra power bill of 20 euros for a better pc

Is this build for gaming? If so, you don't need to shell out for enthusiast level hardware when getting a 4690k and z97 board is more than enough.

I dont understand why a high schooler would want a haswell e hardware other than to show off.

Downgrade to z97 and get a better gpu.

The 5820k will give worse performance in games than the 4790k because it has slower cores.

If you want to game you only really need a quad core and a good gpu.

Also, cheaping out on the power supply is a very bad idea. If the psu fails it can destroy your parts. Paying another 30$ for a good psu is a lot easier than another 2k for an entire computer.

Specs: i7 4790k, r9 280 windforce OC, 8gb hyperx fury 1866 RAM, z97 PC Mate, 256gb mx100, black pearl r4, 2tb WD Red (soon)

I personally would get a slightly bigger PSU so the option to SLI is there. Depends on the usage of the machine (I've not read entire thread) you may be better off with z97 and and a 980, despite you asking not to have that recommended to you.

I feel sorry for you OP.

The build looks fine, especially if you're going to be playing games on a 1080p 60hz monitor.

Just curious, why are you going with x99? Is it so you can "future proof" it?
If so, I'd take into consideration Pascal. That's what I'm currently waiting for, when it drops it will require a proprietary connector, so motherboard replacement will be necessary.

You have a $500 cpu with a $300 gpu.

That doesn't make it an unbalanced system. A 970 is more than enough for pretty much all games at 1080p, 60hz.

Perhaps he doesn't play a lot of intensive games?

You clearly have no idea what power bills are like in other countries. Every country is not like the US, some have power costing 5 to 6 times what it costs there.

In such cases, power consumption is a serious consideration when building a computer.

Lel, just a big house w/ pool n ACs. Power in austria is expensive because we make 90% of it using dams (rivers from mountains) and also the danube.

That's not why it's expensive; BC has the same general lay out. It's your power industry that's demanding more money.

The power supply is very high quality, if it's the V Series from Coolermaster. Scores very well on Johnny Guru.

Why are you so butt hurt that someone has counters to your suggestions?

Maybe you should be a little more open minded and do a little more research before touting off what you'd do, or why someone should change something.

He doesn't need an 850 watt power supply. He only stated the power bill because you seem incapable of comprehending that the entire world isn't the same as where you live.

You clearly aren't as experienced as most, with the recommendations you've been giving. So maybe you should take a bit of your own advice?

There's absolutely no reason to act like that towards other members.

The power supply is pretty high quality. While I agree faster cores is ideal, the x99 platform has shown that it'll very easily overclock to 4ghz, so it's a rather moot point.

If he was just gaming, absolutely, z97. I think he might be doing more, and that's why he's selected the set up he has.
