The one computer part that will never die

I've replaced every part in my parents old gateway PC except the CPU. That thing is still chugging along for a good 9 years now. I don't know how it does it. I never thought to look up what type of processor it was, though.

My dads MacBook Pro.

The worst year of it.

You know, the one with the GPU errors.

And it came with 4GB RAM.

And a 500GB Toshiba 5400RPM HDD.

The CPU is a 2nd gen Core i7 MQ.

It won't die.

Takes about 50 secs to start up.

Battery dies within 15 minutes.

When under load, it can catch your pants on fire.

Weighs like 5 Tons. Has a 1600x900 display.

In my very very old PC I had this Mercury "PSU". I called it Death. That thing was immortal but it was killing everything else.

1. My seven year old OCZ GXS 600W power supply. Still works to this day.

2. An Asus 7600GT that I use for bench testing.

3. (4) 7 year old Seagate 320GB 7200.10 drives that I use for cold storage backups, and an 10 year old Seagate 80GB 7200.7 that I use as my O/S drive in the file server. All of them are still going strong.

4. The Intel DQ965GF motherboard in the HTPC. That board has seen a lot of 24/7 use since it came out of its' anti-static bag.

I've got a CPU from an old HP desktop that's been run without a heatsink for a good hour and still works (albeit it's unstable at 100% load).

There's a 7-8 year old hard drive that still lives in my NAS that has been so abused but still works fine.

I have an 8 year old USB stick that's never gone wrong (all my other usb sticks over 2 years old have corrupted stuff at some point or another).

My Samsung desktop from 2004. :)

Not my Samsung Laptop from 2013...(Every couple months I have to replace the charger...)

My Xbox 360 I would have to say has fared much better than most of my stuff...

I hope Samsung puts higher quality into their SSDs than some of their laptops...

One of the capacitors fell off when I brushed against it with my hand. :(

While on the topic of hard drives, this is my 7200.7 80GB (IDE). It was in my grandma's computer for at least 5 years, and that thing went through hell (blew 3 power supplies, never really got turned off, all that stuff). The little metal bits are small heatsinks out of an old laptop (held on by adhesive), since it was getting hot when I got it and started using it (actually makes a noticeable difference, especially with good airflow). Using it now in my Dell as a daily driver (specs in my sig). Sorry for the potato pic.

My iPhone 4 was indestructible to all but a sledgehammer.

Even a car?

Even a f*cking car.

How is that possible? A car weighs more than a fucking sledgehammer. Of course, it should have flattened it.

I don't even know dude, maybe that it just drove over the top and the sledgehammer is more force in one spot? I made a thread showing the damage awhile back.
