What does it do, and do I need it? I have a MSi z97 GAMING 5 mobo and a Corsair Vengeance c70. Is it something you buy seperatly?

Why would you need a TPM for any rig?

You don't need a trusted platform module unless you are doing stuff like using BitLocker Drive AFAIK.

I have never heard about TPMs, so I don´t think you need them...?

maybe it´s integrated into the motherboard or the processor
