Which Ram is better price/performance

Moglakos
Go to solution Solved by TheMcSame,

Well... let's dig into it shall we.

This is the formula I'll be using to calculate performance:

(CL/(Speed in MHz/2) * 1000) = speed in ns

Real RAM speed calculations:

1. 9/(1866/2)*1000 = 9.6463022508

2.10/(1866/2)*1000= 10.718113612

3.11/(2133/2)*1000= 10.3141115799

4.9/(1866/2)*1000 = 9.6463022508

So from those calculations we've found that 1 and 4 are the highest performing... Now we work out the price to performance ratio (all money amounts will be rounded to the closest Euro cent.

1. 88.37/9.6463022508 = 9.16 EUR

2. 78.51/10.718113612 = 7.32 EUR

3. 82.50/10.3141115799 = 8 EUR

4. 85/9.6463022508 = 8.81 EUR

TL;DR

Option 2

I'm between 4 Rams to buy for a friend and i dunno which will be best option!

1) Corsair Vengeance low profile 1866MHz C9 (88.37€)

2) Kingston HyperX 1866MHz C10  (78,51€)

3) G.Skill RipjawsX 2133MHz C11 (82,5€)

4) G.Skill Ripjaws 1866MHz C9 (85€)

He has a GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 Mobo and an intel i5-4690K (and he want me to OC his CPU to 4.2 or 4.4GHz).

Ram will run at 1866Mhz

Id get the cheapest one so 2. performance difference is very small.

cpu: intel i5 4670k @ 4.5ghz Ram: G skill ares 2x4gb 2166mhz cl10 Gpu: GTX 680 liquid cooled cpu cooler: Raijintek ereboss Mobo: gigabyte z87x ud5h psu: cm gx650 bronze Case: Zalman Z9 plus

Listen if you care.

Nr2, since 1600MHz is the highest frequency haswell can operate with anyways.

If one does not fail at times, then one has not challenged himself.

Personally I swear by G.skill ram but when you don't mind the brand just pick the cheapest one!  ;)

I5-8600K - GTX 1080 - 16GB RAM - 1.5TB SSD

I want everything pink

Well... let's dig into it shall we.

This is the formula I'll be using to calculate performance:

(CL/(Speed in MHz/2) * 1000) = speed in ns

Real RAM speed calculations:

1. 9/(1866/2)*1000 = 9.6463022508

2.10/(1866/2)*1000= 10.718113612

3.11/(2133/2)*1000= 10.3141115799

4.9/(1866/2)*1000 = 9.6463022508

So from those calculations we've found that 1 and 4 are the highest performing... Now we work out the price to performance ratio (all money amounts will be rounded to the closest Euro cent.

1. 88.37/9.6463022508 = 9.16 EUR

2. 78.51/10.718113612 = 7.32 EUR

3. 82.50/10.3141115799 = 8 EUR

4. 85/9.6463022508 = 8.81 EUR

TL;DR
