Ok, so I tried to paint a logo on the drive bay cover of my case. I cut the logo out of a projecter transparency and used Elmer's craft bond spray glue to stick the stencil to the cover. The logo didn't work and I peeled it off (i used plasti dip). But the problem is, the glue left a residue on the drive bay cover and goo gone won't take it off. So my question is, what should it do now?

Looks like it may have etched the plastic, I don't usually recommend this since it's aggressive but try using paint thinner, on a small area to test first. If it doesn't work it's going to be most likely etched so you'll either need to find a way to etch the whole thing to even out the look of it.

nail polish remover didn't work. in fact, i think it too the shiny coating off the plastic.  :o  :(

It's probably etched in at this point you'll need to either etch the whole thing or give it a new finish, if your interested you can make it a brushed aluminium type look, using fine grit sandpaper to hide all those problems.

What kind of acid?

Umm I wouldn't try any type of strong acid on plastic it could end badly. If all else fails and you can't get it off I would just take the whole front of your case off and paint it with plastidip so it's all even and matches plus you'll get a cool rubbery texture on the front of your case. Just make sure to take any I/O out of the case front before you do this as the plasti dip will coat the gaps between the case and the buttons and peel every time you push them.

P.S. Pro tip for next time you stencil something: Go to your hardware store and pick up a roll of green painter's tape. It's usually rated for 8 days to be stuck on something before leaving residue and doesn't cost a lot and comes in 1.5" widths. Once you got some of this grab an old piece of cardboard or something to cut on and lay out lines of masking tape to cover 1 side of it with no gaps between the lines of tape. Then lay another layer down in the other direction again with no gaps between the pieces of tape and make it a little larger than your stencil. Now glue your stencil onto this second layer of tape then cut your stencil out of the masking tap with a very sharp exacto knife(you can get these at most hardware stores it's usually used for making models). Once you got your pattern cut into the tape carefully lift the tape off the 1st layer of tape(the 1st layer prevents the 2nd layer from sticking too much). Now just place your new sticky stencil made of tape onto your item and make sure you push down on all the edges to make sure the paint doesn't bleed.

That's my little trick and what's I've been doing for years whenever I need to stencil something. It's a lot more work but you end up with a great looking result and less likely to get residue when you pull the stencil off.

Try contacting the makers of your case directly they may be able to sell you one if they have any in stock.

Here's a pic of the front of my case, I only have white plasti-dip atm, and just painting the drive bay cover looks really dumb(i tried it). would doing the whole front panel white look dumb? post-103118-0-82256100-1411440092_thumb.

Well that's personal prefrence. Maybe try plasti dip on just the bay cover first it might look nice with a white bay cover and the rest black for contrast. If you don't like it you could always just peel it off.

Well you could just go crazy and repaint the whole case white and leave a few small black accents. W-L's suggestion is probably best but again you'll have to spend more money and buy some wrap. If all else fails try contacting the manufacturer at that link I gave.

For an entire case you'll need around 3-5 cans for a smaller sized tower, and give it a shot calling them worth a try.
