350D vs Enthoo Evolv

jtai117

Hi guys,

I want to replace my prodigy-m soon and I'm tossing up between these two cases. Has anyone had any experience with building in these 2 cases at all? What kinds of things should I look out for when building in them?

Thanks.

The 350D is incredibly easy to build in, but also quite large.

Yeah, I've measured it out a couple of times. Need to move my shelf up a bit for it to fit on my desk. I do kinda want a "premium" mATX chassis that can fit my current rig though (Coolermaster 212 X determines width minimum, EVGA GTX 770 limits length etc). I also would like a side window as well.

I feel the same way, as far as I can see there is nothing with a side window that really compares to it. The corsair spec series maybe... but they are not as high quality and the design is far from elegant

Evolv is far better, quality, features, everything

Well, NZXT's stuff is nice too. I want a micro ATX case though.

Have you built in it before? o:

I really like my 350D. It was very easy to build in and it's got a ton of room even after the system is built, but it is pretty large for an mATX case.

I have no first hand experience with the Evolv so I really dont have the experience to compare the two.

CPU: i9-13900k MOBO: Asus Strix Z790-E RAM: 64GB GSkill  CPU Cooler: Corsair H170i

GPU: Asus Strix RTX-4090 Case: Fractal Torrent PSU: Corsair HX-1000i Storage: 2TB Samsung 990 Pro

Yeah, that's what I'm sorta worried about. I know the Evolv is even bigger than the 350D though. I'm wondering if it's better to go for a small mid tower instead =/ if I do that then, I may replace my matx board for an ATX one but I'm not sure

What Matx board do you have? You could always just put a matx board in a small mid tower.

AsRock Z87m Pro4

It would look strange having a micro ATX board in an ATX case wouldn't it?

Very true. I'm going to wait for either Skylake or Cannonlake before I upgrade again. I guess if I find a nice ATX board for cheap, I'll consider it. If only I could get a Z87 ROG motherboard for cheap haha

The matx market is gr8, i think its better than the ATX. You get almost the same features and save on size. I like the Node 804 so much i wish i would have gone Matx lol.

Funny, I recently swapped a rig from the 350D to the Prodigy M. It was a challenge to get everything in there (2 hdds, 2 ssds, 2 gpus, H90 etc) but was kind of fun in that respect. You have much more room to play around in the 350d, if you need it, and the build quality in the Corsair case is a good bit better than the Prodigy. (save the silly HDD cages).

I can't speak for the Evolv but if quality is anything like the Primo, (current project) it's overall on par or better than corsair. The Primo is very well built, but there are some small niggles. For example: the side panels are a bit thin where the thumb screws pass through. They holes have widened a bit from just removing and installing the panels. It's not a major issue by any means, but its' something I noticed. The Primo needs a bit more spacing off the floor as well to let the case breathe properly. This can be easily fixed in a number of ways, though.  The corsair doesn't have those issues specifically, but things like the HDD cages (IMO) could use some improvement. Cabling space in the 350d was a tad thin IIRC s well.

Overall, I think you would be well served with either case.

gr8 m8 r8 8/8? lol. I found a Maximus VI Gene for $150 online so I'm thinking about picking that up too. The Node 804 is on my list too but I'd have to spend $75 on an ODD if i wanted it.

-snippity snap-

Ha, yeah. That's the problem, they're both going to be great so I can't decide.
