  1. Is there any way of cloning the entirety of the old HDD including any partitions?
  2. Not that I could see. temps were hovering around 50-60 degrees C. The fan spins (sometimes ramping up to 100% for a few seconds then going back to normal).
  3. Hey guys, So I recently purchased an Acer Aspire V3-371 and like anyone on this forum would do, I put a brand new SSD in it. In this case, a 500GB Samsung 850 Evo. After installing the SSD and a fresh copy of Windows 10, I would occasionally run into (and still run into) a problem whereby the laptop would randomly lose power, shut down and restart. It happens more often when I'm running more intensive tasks such as Lightroom or even when watching a livestream on Twitch. Event Viewer shows the following errors: 142 - Occurs when the system has stopped responding and the ha
  4. Oh ok sorry. First time posting in the news section.
  5. You can get an admin to delete it if you want... I don't really mind. I just thought it was mildly interesting.
  6. I think the fact they started with "Hello friend" would indicate that they are fake and not professional haha
  7. SOURCE 1, 2 These kinds of things reminds me of those dodgy "business" emails that YouTubers receive. It would have been absolutely disastrous for the credibility of the Raspberry Pi Foundation if they did accept the money for some absurd reason. This makes me wonder how much companies such as Lenovo were paid to put software like Superfish on their laptops.
  8. Hmm ok well thank you for the information. I'll do more research and make sure.
  9. Yeah, that's the only reason why I know of them. They say they're pretty good. I don't know much about PLS and AH-VA though
  10. http://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Monitors/25%2B_inch/58913-CB270HU It's looking at around $489 for a 27" 1440p IPS monitor.
  11. To get close in what way? Response time? I'm not a super competitive gamer so I don't know if it'll matter that much. Also, I thought IPS panels have better colours?
  12. The cheapest 27" 1440p IPS monitor is around the $500 mark
  13. hmm... I can get something like this http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=558_1213&products_id=31095 $289 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=558_1213&products_id=33670 $299
  14. Rigtio, so that or one of the X-Star monitors? Or something else?
  15. I can get a 27" 1440p IPS panel in the form of the Asus VX24AH which is $399 http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=31511&cPath=1087&utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=cse&utm_campaign=export_feed#googlebase
  16. So I can eliminate the TN panel from my list then. Currently the monitor I have is a 24" TN 1080p, would it be worth it to get another 24" 1080p but IPS? Or go for the 27" 1440p PLS/AH-VA monitor instead?
  17. It's going to be primarily used for work and general usage rather than gaming. Is the difference in response time really that noticeable? Gaming on an IPS panel is ok right?
  18. So long as I set it to only display on the primary monitor yes?
  19. I'm not sure how my 770 will hold up with a 1440p panel and a 1080p. Can turn off one monitor to prevent the GPU from rendering frames on it or something? Oops, should have mentioned that I'm from Australia, land of the horrendously overpriced tech. An Acer Predator costs $1049 here.
  20. So the time has come for me to purchase a second monitor (woop!). I have been doing a little bit of research here and there and I've come up with a couple of different interesting options. Price-wise, I'm looking for something around that AUD$400 mark and function-wise, this will become my new primary monitor for gaming and for CAD work. I'm always open to options but here's the list I've drawn up: BenQ EW2750ZL $349 1920x1080 AMVA+ panel http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=558_1213&products_id=32460 BenQ RL2755HM $349 1920x1080 TN panel ht
  21. I reckon if this was a company like Bethesda they wouldn't have even announced the game yet. The fact that CIG let us in so early in to the development cycle is already pretty cool.
