Sounds like a well-considered upgrade, since the rest of your rig is already really good.

for gaming? nah. wait for skylake. 2500 is still beast and more than 4 cores wont help you atm.

the upgrade is defs worth it but that is also based on what you are doing with the system.  the i7 due to the hyper threading allows for more tasks to be done at the same time and it will be complimented by the 16gb RAM you have.

i dont exactly like the green or the case but the CPU upgrade can also help the GPU too. that is assuming that the current one is throttling it. if you dont want to splurge on the i7 then look the the i5 4690K the base clock is not to shabby and it being unlocked will let you over clock

Me? a girl? psh, don't be silly, everyone knows girls don't use computers

I am planning on starting to stream. Before I had AMD gpu's and I had to use OBS, which dropped my fps in BF4 to 30.. Now with shadowplay I can finally stream when having 70-80+ fps. so a multithreaded cpu would be very nice :)

I'm a huge Razer fan :) (you can hate me for it np) and I'd like to stream, so a multithreaded cpu would be nice :D

well then definitely get the upgrade if you plan to stream.  hyperthreading will be your saving grace for frames.

but razer is gross and over hyped and just eeeeeeehhhhhhhh, cringe at it :I green is not the greatest of colours either but im a sucker for helping people.

I can relate, OBS and AMD do not go well together. It'll only record/stream Wolfenstein in Windowed mode, and along with the game disabling crossfire, OBS tanks my FPS.

I never had that issue with my old GTX 660, but my dual D700s/280Xs have issues.

The increased hyper threading in the CPU, with QuickSync and NVIDIA's codec will be a life saver for you, especially if you over clock that CPU even more.

OBS is brutal to systems that aren't high spec, i mean trying to stream art (desktop streaming) with my surface pro 2 would just make the exterior very very warm and i also suffered lag in the program i was using too.  but i dont really know any other desktop streaming programs so :P

Yea, OBS killed everything what I was doing haha..

Shadowplay on Nvidia is something really nice. But I can still use some improvements.

Except in Crysis 3 and watch dogs :P

true. i think dx12 will bring us ALL THE CORES ! I hope amd hurry up with their processors or 5820k will be forever at 400$ and 5960k at 1000$ O.o

crysis 3 is bottlenecked in some scenes even with 3570k clocked under 4.2 ghz xD

My system is a bit high spec. Xeon E5-1650 v2 3.5Ghz 6 core, 32GB 1866Mhz RAM, dual AMD D700/280X's 6GB VRAM each, PCIe internal and external SSDs, and it can still mangle my FPS and quality.

Can honestly say my old GTX 660 handled it better then the AMD cards. A shame really.

well AMD is cheap hardware. i mean after using an AMD card i can definitely say i rather pay the premium of a Nvidia card
