Radeon 7850 upgrade

Hi, i am wondering abut upgrading my GPU, at the moment i have a Radeon 7850 running at 1ghz core and 1,2ghz memory.

Shall a buy another compatible GPU and run in crossfire or put the card on the shelf and buy  a new ??

At the moment most of my money goes to my car audio, so i don't know how much money i want to spend on a GPU, i need some input

Wait until Maxwell and GCN 1.2 comes out.

If your card isn't up to snuff for you, wait a few weeks to see what's supposed to be releasing soon and then set a budget for a new card. Around $200 would be a good upgrade.

ok, thanks if i find a used card, which others cards can i use ?? is it only the 7850 and 7870 ??

if you use a 7870 with a 7850, the 7870 will down clock to the same speed as the 7850. You may want to upgrade to a r9 280x, I upgraded to a asus dcuii 280x and its a nice boost in speed and its real quiet.

I'd suggest going with something more powerfull. R9 280 maybe?

Crossfiring 7850s just isn't worth it.

Wait until the next generations drops, like OriginalPromise suggests and then buy a last gen card.

The 290x is rumored to drop in price real soon. And buying a card that is just released (if your on a budget) would be way to expensive.

Or buy a last gen card now cheap as chips.

7850's and 7870 models on ebay 2nd hand (with warranty on some) can be had for $80-110

There's one in LTT's classifieds for $110

 

I'd go that route... then in future grab a more powerful single gpu when the newer ones are out and have been ironed out of all the new bugs that came with them.
