Sapphire Radeon R9 290X TRI-X OC vs R9 290

manzir

Guys, I will be buying 2 used sapphire radeon r9 290x tri-x oc 4gb link:- http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814202079 tonight,

But how do I know I am getting the 290x not the 290?

How do I figure by looking at the card that those are indeed 290x but not 290?

I keep looking at pictures of both sapphire radeon r9 290x tri-x oc and the 290; but could not seem to figure out. They look exactly the same. No specific notation on the 290x card...

P.S :- I am upgrading from EVGA 760 2 -Way SLI, is it worth the upgrade?

290x has 2816 Stream processors

290 has 2560 Stream processors

Use GPU-Z to find out how many the cards have if you're going to pick them up in person.

There's a sticker on it, usually, to tell you what the model of the card is. Quickest way is to not buy used cards though...

Since it is a craigslist deal; I am a bit spectral... what if he changes the box? Thanks for the sticker option, I see the one that you posted is R9-290.

Craigslist deal, so it can only be visual a inspection, I will use the sticker to check I guess

That sounds like a great deal for 2 aftermarket 290x, or 290s even.
