statistically, there is such a little chance that we are the only ones...

i mean. in one galaxy, there is hundreds of millions of stars. and lets say only 1% have planets. and 1% of those are in the habitable zone. and 0.1% are inhabitated with ANY kind of life...

now realise there are millions of galaxies in out immediate neighbourhood. and there are many superclusters... and the universe had gone through 14billion years of stars already...

now realise that is still a fuckload of inhabitated planets. and a fuckload of those were probably advanced civilisations...

now also realise we are merely cells, held together by 2 distinct forces (probably just one, not proven yet), and operating under laws of physics and chemistry, no matter how much free will you want

but my theory on this is either we arent worth it in terms of resources, or those civilisations already perished in the 14bio years the universe had

Not to be arrogant, but are you talk about me? For some reason I hope you are lol

read about the fermi paradox

its a good read

Read it. I have a few problems with it. Bear in mind I'm a speed reader, so I tend to skim things.

1. It doesn't take into account the thought that extra terrestrial life might purposefully prevent us from discovering them, whether for nefarious reasons or out of a mere abundance of caution (think krogans from mass effect, they were "uplifted" and became a problem). They might only make contact with civilizations that have developed interstellar travel capability on their own.

2. They make the assumption that a civilization capable of interstellar travel exists only as physical beings, with ships and what not.

That's actually all I can think of, I have been partaking of this wonderful earthling drink called "beer", I must assimilate the information necessary to create it before sending back to the fleet to signal the invasion.

Not to indulge in your cospiracies (but i will)...

there is another way.

3. There were civilizations, but they are either in a different galaxy all together (galaxies are impossibly far away, even for interstellar travel), or in the 14 billion years, they may have developed, bloomed, and then doomed. think about it. we are only here as a civ for what, 5000 years... this is nothing compared to 14 billion years of the universe

A very good point, what we see of the universe right now is billions of years old, however I still find it highly improbably that right now we are the only "intelligent" species in the galaxy. It just....doesn't make sense.
