Help with a $1,300ish build

My friend needs a build for around $1,300. He will be using it for video editing mostly and he needs a monitor with it but no OS

 

This is what I put together, if there's anything I should change tell me

Why do you have two different SSD's?

Is 2tb enough for his needs?

That video card does not support CUDA acceleration.

he says 2 TB should be enough I forgot i left the old ssd in the build i will remove it

That video card does not support CUDA acceleration.

I'm a bit of a novice editing pc builder should I go with an nvidia card because they use cuda? hes going to be editing with things like adobe after effects and cinema 4D

Get a xeon 1231V3 instead of the 4790 to save money (you only lose 0.2GHz) and put that saved money towards a GTX 780 so he can use CUDA for his editing.

Get a xeon 1231V3 instead of the 4790 to save money (you only lose 0.2GHz) and put that saved money towards a GTX 780 so he can use CUDA for his editing.

Cuda is just another fancy way of saying stream processors, also AMD drivers are better.

This is wrong in so many ways. CUDA cores is almost the same as stream processors but CUDA acceleration is something entirely different. I would say pick EVGA GTX 780 SC w/ ACX if you have programs that support CUDA, otherwise get a Sapphire R9 290 Tri-x.

For the same price you can get two of these 120gb HDD's, and put them in RAID0. I'd probably do that.

I saw that he uses Adobe products, 780 is best for that.

We are ofcourse referring to CUDA as in CUDA acceleration for rendering. Ofc amount of CUDA cores corresponds to stream processors. The way you replied to him seem to imply that CUDA is just a fancy word and has no real use.
