AMD equivalent to 4790K

I am planning a build for a friend that wants an all AMD system. And I was curious as to what AMD CPU is the same or nearly the same performance wise as the 4790K.

Why does it have to be an all amd system? amd cpus are only good if you are making a really really cheap pc.

FX9590 overclocked to the max possible...

 

He'd be better off with the i7 imo...

There is no real equivilant, AMD doesn't really compeat well when it comes to high end CPUs. If you want a high end system and you have the money intel has more to offer at the high end.

If for whatever reason you really want a high end AMD system then go with the 8350 and overclock it.

go with a 8320 or 8350 and overclock it its about as good as an i5. simple.

AMD has capable processors but they've made it clear that they are no longer in a cpu death match with intel. You'll get no equal processor from AMD. Intel has better performance gaming chips, period. Price/performance is a totally different story.

amd as nothing that performs nowhere near the 4790k especialy in regards to gaming.
