I'm about to build a pc and are stuck between the GPU's GTX 770 or Radeon R9 290 with the CPU being a 4790

 

Primary use will be gaming and video editing

 

Any response would be greatly appreciated

Really depends from ur budget, i would go for the 290 vapor-x...

Way more performance for not that much more money.

Had to make the same decision and I don't regret it. The 770 is just too expensive for my taste.

Hang on it should be 780 vs 290 or am I mistaken???

And i'm currently looking at the MSI R9 290??

Get the TriX! Everyone will tell you to get either that or the Vapor-X.

Pretty quiet and fairly cool. I mean I run below 80°C all the time, even with Prime95 and Furmark, with my TriX in a 250D. You will have MUCH better temps in an Air 240.

Also the TriX has a pretty low price for a 290 despite the great cooler, which is not only pretty cool but also fairly quiet.

Interesting. Here a 290 Trix is only about 30 bucks more than the reference, which is at 300 bucks. The MSI one has the same price.
