I wanted to sign up for hack forums for awhile now but it seems kinda sketchy and non-legitimate? Are the forums there safe?

If you are just looking for some programs or scripts to play about with theni its an alright place. If you actually want to learn something or are interested in information security then its one of the worst places to start.

It's safe long as you don't click links that aren't verified by other members, Best Blackhat Forums is actually much safer. (from personal experience)

The forums itself are safe, well as safe as a forum can be but don't by any circumstances download files from there. Virus.bat or holidaysnaps.jpg.exe are common place on there. If you're doing it to learn then you shouldn't need to really download anything from there anyway. + there's the allegations that the FBI infiltrated that site years ago soooo, don't do shady stuff if you sign up!

The best way to hack is learning proper system security, it's basically going to a classroom on a university and listening a old school guy telling you how to penetrate networks and systems.

not at all, if you have what it takes then you will find it pretty interesting. If you just want to learn a few tricks and call yourself a hacker then go ahead.

I don't plan on doing anything big, just getting some payback on some Skript Kiddies, that ya know, SWAT/(D)DOS twitch streamers... I find it quite annoying

Like everyone else said, the forums them selves are safe from a security standpoint, however some of the users on that site are wrapped up in the wrong stuff. I don't know what your intention is as far as being involved with them but it's really no big deal, just be mindful of who you're dealing with. The site isn't even all about hacking, there is a lot more to it (such as PPD, CPA, etc.)

So the answer is yes if you've got a VPN, a PFsense router with every firewall and defense protocol turned on, and a computer with Slackware or Arch Linux.

Before this forum I was on HF for 3 years and never had anything bad happen. There are nothing that is actually illegal on there. Just be a regular person, don't download random files .etc and you'll be good
