Hello !

I'm looking forward to building a pc but I don't really know what mobo to choose. However, after hours of searching I've found two mobos that have all the features I need. One of them is ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer and the other one is GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-GAMING 3. Now, the problem is that I can't decide. What I like about the Gigabyte one is that it has one more heat sink, support for both SLI and Crossfire and it's full ATX (12 - 8.9) and the bios seems to be a lil bit better. Now, what I like more at the ASRock one is the look, lol.

Now, seriously, what should i choose ? I want to overclock the G3258 to something like 4.4 - 4.5 GHz and later on to upgrade to i5 / i7 Broadwell. Which is the better board ?

I would get the gigabyte if you really need to choose between the 2, but take a look at asus as suggested before, their boards are also very good.

And it's not because it got heatsinks it's better :P

Gigabyte, but if you don't need any fancy features and want to just plop in a graphics card (up to 2 with AMD) and overclock, then the MSI Z97 PC MATE is stupidly cheap.

I don't know what to say, the Z97 PC MATE really is very cheap but I don't know how good it is, or how good it should be fot that money. It has no M.2 nor Sata express and the lan and audio chipset are worse than both Killer and Gaming 3 but after all I don't think I really need those features. What is really concerning me is the VRM 'cause the PC MATE only has 4 power phase (while Killer and gaming 3 have 8) and I don't know how it overclocks... Do you think I'll get good oc with this MSI board ?

You should do, I mean people get their G3258 to 4.7GhZ on a B81 board...
