People are still giving them money?

This might be funny if they weren't the only company to choose from in many populated areas.

The only company to choose from? Really? Which populated areas are you talking about?

I dunno, most of the west coast, east coast, LA, Washington DC, probably Seattle, definitely New York. If it isn't Comcast/Time Warner then it's some random unheard of ISP that has dial-up speeds or very limited availability, like Century Link. Do you really think it's that easy? Just switch to someone else? We all wish it was, but in a lot of places there is no one else.

Too be fair, this is all normal shit you'd get from any ISP. They don't train these people on each individual gaming engine, they train them on how to do the job. It just got blown up because Comcast is under a magnifying glass right now.

Comcast is terrible but I suspect it will stay that way for a while because the government is in Comcast's pocket for the time being.  Corruption like this really angers me.

Since digital distribution is the primary content delivery method for games (and apps) for millions of PC users, now apparently it's starting to show on Comcast's radar as bandwidth hog, sort of:

Comcast thinks Steam download is a virus or “too heavy”

I hope they don't think of pulling a "Netflix" case on Valve some day.

that guy probably meant 6MBps not 6Mbps, because he read it off of steam which tells you your download speed in MBps not Mbps

first of all, MB and Mb are not the same, there are 8Mb(megabit) in a MB(megabyte). Speedtest measures in Mb/s and Steam Measures in MB/s. 50Mbps(Mb/s) = 6.25 MBps(MB/s)

Guy's problem sounds like a modem/router issue such as a NAT overload to me. That comcast tech sure is dumb, first troubleshooting step I'd take if a customer was claiming all devices disconnect like that would be to try pinging the router gateway, to see if the router's locked up or something.
