PS4 price drop?

So I want to get a PS4. I'm not sure if I should get it now or wait for a holiday price drop (hopefully near Christmas). Anybody hear anything about a price drop coming soon? Don't want to spend $400 now and see it drop to say, $350 in November.

I wouldn't hold out for a price drop, even if it is $50. I don't personally think it's all that impressive, but if you want one, that's your choice.

I don't expect a ps4 price drop anytime soon with the way it's been selling like hotcakes, that said it's entirely possible a retailer or two could put it on special at some point.

I think you came to ask the wrong people about a console :P

The most common result of insufficient wattage is a paperweight that looks like a PC

You don't want a console, just get a PC or better yet a Steambox when they become available.

I have a 360, PS4 and soon 2 computers...my theory is the PS4 will sit there and collect dust....while the 360 will be used for movies...and the computers will be used for everything else.

Certain exclusives/timed exclusives.

 

Destiny DLC, Infamous Second Son, Last of Us Remastered, Killzone Shadow Fall, Uncharted 4, Little Big Planet 3 and other exclusive content such as 60 extra minutes of gameplay from publishers such as Ubisoft.

 

Topic: I would definitely wait. Even if there isn't a price drop - Black Friday deals always have extra games, or includes a 1 year card for that matter.

Exclusives, portability, playing with non-PC friends, I've had every PS consoles before this, portability (no interest in building an mATX or mITX PC).

 

the price drop will be dwarved by amount you will have to pay for PSN and console extra price tag for games.

 

 

You don't want a console, just get a PC or better yet a Steambox when they become available.

 

I already have a PC and I know that the PC master race has an intensive hate for consoles but I really don't see why we can't just have both.

The console gaming industry has changed, but PC games have stayed relatively the same.

LBP3, Tearaway are going to be great, but I'd just get a PS4 in like 5 years time when they're cheaper.

The PS4 launched at a really competitive and frankly modest price and is selling well. I'd not expect a price cut - a major one at least - for a long while. I reckon instead of discounting the cost of it they might just add freebies into the bundle - an extra game, or an extra controller etc at the same price.

Given the success of the console so far, I doubt we'll be seeing

a significant price drop any time soon. Maybe not even until

Sony announce a newer version of the console - a PS4 Slim,

as is traditional for them to do.

 

As a guess? I'd say we'll see a price drop probably around this

time next year. Until then you'll mostly just see sales from the

retailers and the like...

Nope brand new from gamestop I had traded in a 360 we had two and all of the games plus our ps3 and games plus the Nintendo 3ds and games. We paid 101 for it. We never used any of them anyways.
