best mechanical keyboard?

Go to solution Solved by 404,

There is no BEST Mechanical, there are just different boards for different tastes. Believe me, I have 30.

DON"T EVER GET A RAZER KEYBOARD. They are the worst. And the new switches don't help.

There are a few options.

1. Get Cherry MX Color changers. (Geekhack and Massdrop sell them in Groupbuys.)  They work really well. They don't soften the light too much, and they do a great jod of changing the color of your Keyboard. It works even better if you paint your backplate. I have these on my Quickfire Rapid-i and the backplate is painted with a rainbow pattern to match the color changers.  It has the Max Keyboards translucent set on it and it looks awesome. They work best with a white backlight.

2. Mod.

You could always get a green LED board and change the switches or open them up and change the stem and spring.

Or get your favorite LED backlit board and change the LED's.

3. Buy

I would recommend the Max Keyboard Nighthawk with Green LED's.

A Ducky Shine 3

CM Storm board with Greens. (Mods required unless you like a heavy switch).

Corsair RGB

Vortex KBT Pure Green

4. Keycaps

Get a white backlit board. And either get Translucent Green Keycaps, or Doubleshot keycaps with translucent green lettering.

Hey

I have never had a mechanical keyboard and I am currently looking at a few. Those being the Razer Blackwidow and the Corsair K70. I am edging towards the Razer Blackwidow just because i have green LEDs' in my PC, a razer naga and krakens. I think it would be cool to stick with the green theme but I think it may be a bad choice because of the non cherry mx keys. I also would like the keys to be Cherry mx blue's or something equivalent like the razer switches. Any good recommendations? thanks!

Ducky makes awesome keyboards. in any Colour/Switch/Layout combination possible.

Before getting a mechanical though.. really you should try out some different switch types in the real world.

They feel VERY different, and can be the difference between an awesome keyboard or a horrible one (subjectively ofcourse).

Everyone have a cool signature. I don't, so I thought I would write something.

- Cool right?

You can stick to your color scheme with this one.

This. I'd avoid Razer like the plague. Very few good things come from them anymore.

If you want something that will never die than DAS keyboards are the best. These things are built like tanks. If you want a solid custom keyboard with back lighting than Ducky or making your own is the way to go. If you want something that is a great all around keyboard than the Corsair keyboards are the best. The RGB is great if Ducky doesn't hold the led light that you want (I.e. their blue is more indigo and you want ice blue).

No, most of their stuff is decant I would stay away from their keyboards and audio. I have a Razer mousepad, mouse, and mouse bungee (came as a bundle) and I have been satisfied with them. (Except Synapse)
