Hi, I am going to build a gaming pc in about 1 month, and i need your help with the fans.

  Build: Cpu: i5 4670

            Cpu Cooler: Corsair H100i

Gpu: 2x Gtx 760 evga in sli

            Mobo: Msi Z97 GD65 Gaming

Ram: Kingston Hyperx Fury 8gb (2x4)

            SSD: Kingston Hyperx 3k 120gb

            Hard Drive: WD Black 1tb

            Psu: Corsair RM850

            Case: Corsair 450d

Extra Fans: 3x Cooler Master JetFlo Red

My idea is to replace all 3 stock fans that comes with the corsair 450d with the 3 JetFlos. But I dont know if i do 2x Intake on the bottom and 1x Exhaust on top + H100i as a Exhaust OR 2x Ehxaust on the bottom and 1x Intake on top + H100i.

I have this doubt because of the 2x Gtx 760 that will be facing Down the case and blowing air to the bottom.

I prefer To do 2x Intake on the bottom and 1x Exhaust on top + H100i as a Exhaust, but i wanna hear you guys first.

PS: English Is not my main language, sorry for any mistake.

First of all you should have your fans primarily on the front and back, not top and bottom, generally have 1 intake at the bottom front of your case and then 1 exhaust at the top back and another exhaust at the top of your case. Also I think that you should get a gtx 780 rather than the two 760's it should offer better performance in most games and especially in games where sli is not heavily optimized.

definetly want to make the h100i exhaust you dont want cpu heat in your case.

I would then do 2 intakes and the 1 exhaust.. just so you can have positive pressure to keep the dust out

I recommend two intake fans in the front, one intake fan in the back and the two fans on the H100 exhausting out the top.

Also get one 780 instead of two 760's. Yes today you will get better performance out of the 760's but upgrading is costly, where if you put in one 780 and in a year decide you need more power; you can simply add another 780.

Just some food for though.

As already said, either more intake than exhaust or equal. It will help prevent against dust build up.

Hmm Sorry, I meant Front and Back instead of Bottom and Top.

And about the Gtx 760 in sli Vs 780ti i would rather go with the gtx 760 in sli because of the price diference ($500 against $700).

Thanks for your Comment.  :)

This only works if you have filters on all of your intakes. Which is also a good idea OP.

True, true. But what modern cases don't have intakes any more? I can only think of a few, like Case Labs cases.

And the dust filters in the 450d will help on that.

Most cases dont have a filter on the rear fan. Which if you want good positive pressure you will want to use that rear fan as an intake. But magnetic dust filters are cheap and plentiful.

Usually used an exhaust, with heat rising and all that jazz.

Its gonna be really tough to get positive pressure with two intake fans and 3 exhaust...

Gotta make up the difference somewhere.

ALL THE INTAKES!

The key is to generate positive air-pressure, so that your PC does not suck up dust.

Well, actually you can get a 780 for 500 dollars. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=780&rh=n%3A172282%2Ck%3A780 Look around evga, asus, gigabyte all 500 dollars or less, trust me friend it will be a much better use of 500 dollars.

Create positive pressure.

A PC will still suck up dust with positive pressure(stop acting like it doesnt guys), but the real reason for positive pressure is feed air into the componant cooling device.

The higher amount of air inside of the case allows more air to be sucked up and passed through rads and heatsinks.

More molecules means more mass to heat up, it makes everything that much more supplied with air and creates better exhuast dissipation.

You really should get K cpu for that high end build. H100i with non-K is waste of money. As for fans, 2+2 is enough. For more GPUs you can add bottom intake to help but 2 exhaust fans are still enough.

So how much Intake is too much intake? I'm thinking of building a H440 with three fans in the front, one fan in the back and room on the top for an H100i. I could use the front three as intake, flip the rear fan for intake and use the H100i to exhaust out the top, giving me a net intake pressure of 2 fans. Is that overkill?

id say stick to three intakes up front, 1 exhaust out the back and h100i as exhaust out the top....at least that's my plan.

That was my original thought so I'll just stick with that then. Thanks!
