My main love is hip hop, but catch me at the right time and my music tastes vary from Rammstein to Opera

Meh, you could've broken up the genres a bit more.

Secondly, why is there just "metal" then "heavy/death metal" ?

Techno - Some is alright, though not a massive fan of repetative 1min intros.

 

 Pop - From the 90's? Sure. Even from other countries, but American Top 40 is a huge no.

 

 Rock - Every now and then, electric guitars are awesome sauce.

 

 Metal - See Rock.

 

 Heavy metal/Death metal/similar things - Unless it's Metalocalypse, gross.

 

 Classical - Soothing to the ears.

 

 Blues - That old Blues sound is something I can get behind.

 

 Country - As long as it isn't whiny for fake patriotism to milk 9/11, I like this genre.

 

 Club - I like women.

 

 Rap/Hip Hop - 90's and underground. Mainstream is retarded with its constant focus on who has the most bling or tits and ass.

 

 Opera - AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, only a little.

 

 Jazz - Have to be in the mood for it, but smooth jazz is swanky.

 

 Easy Listening - I'm not 40 years old yet.

As I said, hip hop is my general taste, and makes up the bulk of my music listening time and library, but I find it hard to narrow it down to one 

 

Music is different to different people, for me my tastes will vary day to day, week to week, while I have and sure always will enjoy hip hop, sometimes I want to listen to somebody belt it out, or somebody hitting the guitars hard and music will always be like that

 

Its so hard to define music genres, just as its hard to sum up what music you like by ticking a box

I'll split pop into current pop and old pop (pre 90s)

Also, easy listening can be alot more than you may think. alot of 60s and 70s music is easy listening

I think you should keep Pop as is, but add a "Top 40's" in since @LinusTech listens to that.

ik, punk rock could be added into an Alternative genre, dandb ive never heard of, but ill add it (2 people said it now) hardcore what? chillstep can be incorporated into dubstep (as written, similar genres)

No R&B or soul? Artists like Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Kely Rowland, 50 Cent, Michael Jackson etc. make up most of my music library. I also occasionally listen to stuff from Daft Punk, Coldplay and Kings of Leon. The rest is just random stuff that fits in those genres.

I like techno, house/some less shitty pop, and altenrative. Think Daft Punk to Florence + The Machine and some Pentatonix.

Rock, classic rock, classic metal, chillstep, some 70s and 80s pop, some rap. And my favourite, 80s inspired electronica like synthwave/synthpop.

 

Oh and some game soundtracks are really excellent too. FTL and Black Mesa come to mind.

Should be allowed multiple choice, if that is possible. I like rock but nothing beats some metal, especially the likes of Black Sabbath and Dio. I can also sit down and listen to some classical, but I own no music by classical artists, so that is rare.
