Simple question

Okay, so I hate the web interface or whatever for folding, and I was wondering if I could set this setting to "false" and make it so that when I launch Folding at Home it will not launch the web interface.

Tried it. After restarting the program it defaulted back to true. I deleted the old one and made a new one (same name and everything) just with false instead of true.

I did it, but when I restarted the client, it went right back to true, almost as if nothing happened.

Is there a file on your computer for the configuration that you can manually change through notepad?

There is an xml file where changes to the client are stored. But, if you changed it within the client, and it reverted back, the xml file is obviously going back to some default. In the data directory, there should be an xml file you can look at, forget the name of it off the top...

Did they change Folding or something? Because I've always used Advanced Control which never takes me to the web interface; it just opens up the client instead

When I open the advanced control, it takes me to it. But when my computer boots it opens the web interface (since I have it set to load at login). And IE slows things down.

 

My client version is 7.4.4 (latest one, just installed it yesterday).

If there is a shortcut somewhere like on your desktop to the Folding@Home client, right click on the shortcut and select 'Properties' and under Target remove the flag which opens the web control (this worked for me).

If you don't have a shortcut then maybe you could try right clicking the executable in the directory of where the program is installed and changing the flags there (idk if this will work though).

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.
