Rendering in Blender?

williamjestes101

Hey All,

So I am building a new system in a few weeks and I am wondering what the situation is with rendering in Blender. Don't laugh at me but I have been using a GT 430 for quite a while and (no shit Sherlock) its time for an upgrade. I am trying to decide between the gtx 770 and the r9 290. I am gaming and using blender. Obviously the 290 destroys the 770 in gaming but I am wondering about compatibility with rendering in blender. It makes the 770 look like a child's toy using Luxmark due to the OpenCL performance as well. So I am wondering if I will be able to use the 290 with cycles anytime soon? Or will I be stuck using an external renderer like Luxmark?

Please don't rinse your memory
