i legit thought you were OP......sorry. As for your registry errors, these arent so much errors as unnecessary keys. CCleaner wipes them out but it really only makes a difference if you have thousands of them.

Just a tip, use an uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller instead of the built in Windows one, it will scan for any leftover registry keys and files left behind by the program, it's pretty useful.

gunna go play unturned and c what happens, had a o.c. on my cpu of 4.4, too it down to 4.2 as im too noob to remove it coz i dont know how as i used ai suite. edit: the lowest i got it too was 3.6 still not stock but only 0.1 off, good enuogh.

Have you stress tested your system while having it overclocked? The overclock could be causing the bluescreens.

Even power users might not be able to decide whether a file called 92741-4209878-32415-34871957 is necessary to keep on your computer or if it is slowing it down.

This is why a clean install is always the best option to keep the computer running completely optimised. Obviously another option is to not install any programs or windows updates, but wtf lol

Where a person would get a file called that is beyond me, with a name like that I would see no reason not to delete it. As long as a person properly maintains a computer (uninstalls old drivers, doesn't download malware/viruses, only runs programs in the startup that he/she needs, etc) there is no reason you should have to do a fresh install every year. My install is over 2 years old now and running nearly as fast now as it was when I got it. If I felt like not running some programs in the background I'm sure it could be just as fast as when I first installed it. I've been working in IT for the last couple years though, so I guess I'm not the average person, but you're making it sound like your computer will go to shit if it isn't re-installed every 6 months.

I never said it goes to shit, lol, but it will noticeably slow down after 6-12 months of use.

The issue is that when you install a program and uninstall it, there are residual files left behind in the windows registry and other places, and when these stack up it can affect your PC's performance. This isn't an issue for someone who just has a couple programs that they only install once, but I personally have over 50 programs and many times I need to download something, or uninstall something else.

Another issue is updating programs. A lot of programs will leave unnecessary files behind that the new update doesn't need, and these can either slow down your PC or use up more drive pace than necessary.

TBH I havn't done a clean install in two years because I'm too lazy to recrack some programs, but its been a while and I do notice it is definitely slower than when I previously clean installed.

Every time i uninstall a program, i get errors due to paths and files that stayed behind. Missing MUI references, and shortcuts remaining on the desktop. WIndows is so retarded. Have to use CCleaner to fix em

Yup. Sadly ccleaner can't fix everything, and I just know there are still files left even when I run it two or three times :(

It does help a ton though compared to not using it

Just plain files will not slow down your computer at all, only background processes and things your computer actually has to run will slow it down. It's not like storing 20 GB of pictures on your hard drive will make your computer run slower. I have well more than 50 programs installed as well, but whenever I uninstall I use a program like Revo Uninstaller to delete any leftover files and registry keys. What usually slows down computers the most, from my experience, is letting too many programs build up in the start-up without ever disabling any. Going through the start-up section in Ccleaner will stop un-needed programs, which actually could slow down your computer, from running all the time.

It's not just startup, but also running stuff. The more stuff is on a drive the slower it goes.

And when the PC has to search for a file, it will take longer the more there are.

Registry cleaners do not remove everything btw.

Well, say you have a 1 TB harddrive, it would be stupid to be scared to use a lot of space on it because it will slow your drive down. Obviously it is good to delete un-needed files, and run cleanup utilities like Ccleaner and Disk Cleanup, but I wouldn't recommend going to do a clean install to save 500 MB of space or so. And no, registry cleaners probably do not remove everything, but running Revo instead of a normal installer and running Ccleaner's registry cleanup tool should be more than enough to keep your computer running. I doubt extra registry keys have a noticeable impact on your computer speed anyway unless you have some serious issues.

This isn't about keeping your computer running. It is about keeping it 100% in the best condition possible.

Well all I'm saying is that one can keep it at 95%+ condition without having to re-install Windows every 6 months if one knows what he/she is doing. Personally I find it pointless to do a clean install unless I have a certain reason for it (messed up registry, memory leaks, corruption), because the computer will be back down to the same state it was in before doing the clean install a couple weeks after doing it.

no.

I do not know where to download revo, but i have a copy in my dropbox.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rb05y7bc7qlbay5/AAAAcDIH1wpZpZagdmlEPKBUa

When you run it, select the program you want and choose advanced mode.

It will run the built in installer and after that, it will search for every registry key and every file that is associated with that program, and leave you as if you never installed the program. I don't use it for every un install, but just last night a program failed to remove itself so i used revo to get rid of it. Very useful tool.

Edit: Download it as a zip (the three dots in the top) and delete the settings doc. The settings dock isnt important, but it is geared to my PC so it is best to get rid of it so it can make a new one.

from bluescreenview it looks like a bad OC, from event viewer it looks like stikynot.exe is causing issues as well.

Looks like bonjour is also causing some issues.

i dont even have a program called bonjour i deleted it ages ago when i  installed itunes which it came with. anyway to find if its still somehow on pc? i checked programs and is not there.

stikynot.exe is just the  sticky notes app with windows that i use sometimes, srsly that could be? lol

and yea i couldnt find the reset to default setting in bios so i just manually turned the oc down to 3.5, hopefully that was it,

probs was since i just did and no test, plus i used ai suite.

yes bonjour is a service installed by itunes, and removing it really does dick all.

I suggest re installing it, and using revo uninstaller https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rb05y7bc7qlbay5/AAAAcDIH1wpZpZagdmlEPKBUa to remove it.

Open it up, find itunes and remove that, once that is gone do bonjour, and choose advanced mode.

Once you go through the built in un installer, hit next and follow the steps to delete the remaining files.

If you still use itunes and removed bonjour, that will also cause issues.

But in all likely hood, the overclock was unstable and that is causing your BSoD's

yes bonjour is a service installed by itunes, and removing it really does dick all.

But in all likely hood, the overclock was unstable and that is causing your BSoD's

yea ive been playing unturned for a bit and la noire right now and so far so good, think it was oc because i reset all my bios settings too default and just changed the ram to 1866mhz and some other stuff but no oc.

if i just uninstall itunes now will it all be removed or do i have to do that? coz i dont use as i have a note 3 anyways, dont plan on changing to itunes either.

getting rid of itunes should stop the bonjour errors. Use the revo uninstaller for this though, as it is best to rid yourself of all the files in itunes.
