I don't have any problems with youtube on firefox myself.

You gotta remember though, google does "own" youtube.

That's where I got the "bias" thing from, I can do everything I want with Chrome but on Firefox they won't let me do anything. All other websites work fine with Firefox.

If you want to see real bias just check out HTML5 video playback on any browser that is not Chrome. No other browser but Chrome fully supports Google's requirements for HTML5 video playback. Not even Opera which is a chrome clone.

Yeah, this makes no sense. Shouldn't it be illegal for Google to limit users' abilities based on their browser choice?

Isn't Opera older than chrome though?

Can't report an error with yt and firefox. Well you can try.

Type in

about:memory

hit enter

Free CC and GC

Then try:

Type in

about:support

hit enter

Reset firefox

Restart

Bye LTT. That was an interesting journey on this board. At least here you see how not to do it. I'll go shaking my head about this place.

That didn't help, but I lost all my add-ons -_-

No. While Opera was first released at 1995 and existed until 2013, the Opera that exists today has nothing to do with that browser that. That Opera used Presto engine. In 2013, they have ditched it.  Instead, they started over by cloning Chromium, giving it a little bit of their own paint. Opera that exist now is literally Chrome with less functions.

It's technically legal. Not only because they own the website but because Google presents these requirements as "open-source standards". Other browsers can implement the necessary functions, although some of the codecs that youtube uses are not license free so Firefox would have to pay to implement that.

I have had nothing but issues with firefox (I hate it) since I had to switch from Internet explorer, due to it breaking (for me, the first time in about 13 or so years)

I've had nothing but issues with Chrome, like it using so much CPU my mouse stops working

Lol I switched to chrome for all of about 5 minutes after my I.E. stopped working. Immediately downloaded F.F. for lack of a better option.
