Logitech G402 Available for preorder

brownninja97

Honestly Logitech is one of those companies that just makes things that people want and last a lot. 5 years ago I got a 2.1 speaker set-up that was on offer at my local electronics store and that thing to this day is working perfectly and sounds just as good as it did back then. Also three years ago I bought used from a friend a G9X that he had ever since it came out. It's still my current mouse and it kicks major butt! I have not been able to change since I got it because compared to that all the other mice feel uncomfortably light and that makes their build quality seem like crap.

Then you got lucky. I had 3 Logitech mice in the last 18 months, two of my z5000 speakers died after a year.

I just wish it had 4 thumb buttons like the G602... my thumbs are too short, gets annoying having to shift my palm just to reach them.

From the makers of the amazing G502 and the z623 speakers of which those fu**ing speakers died on me yesterday( rip for them). Back on topic Logitech is back again with a new mouse, to shake the ages and your pants(underwear for silly people).

Great fortune tellers told us that someday man kind, woman kind......and linus would come across this mouse.

They even detailed the details which entail the details of this mouse.

Feature list;

  • 500 inches track speed, which that many inches your SO will never complain
  • "The Logitech exclusive Delta Zero technology ensures pinpoint accuracy for Hyperion Fury" Yeah whatever the heck their marketing team says, sounds like some attack from a crappy anime.

You can also customize the literal sh** out of this mouse, never again will  your SO complain about a single set skills, now you can have many skills and be "productive" with your time. for science.

Pricing:

UK: £45

Euros:  No clue

US: $59.99

Won't be buying it. My G300 was great until logitech updated the software.  Then I got pissed at how poorly the new software ran.

Available for preorder at 60 USD, or 60 Euros

Will be available sometime in august.

Logitech says this mouse is designed primarily for FPS gamers

It has 8 programmable buttons, 4 DPI settings changeable on the fly, contains an accelerometer(No idea how to spell that :P) to help track movement, as well as a gyroscope.

Davechaos, a member of the Yogscast. already has an overview available.

if it has scroll left and right, this may be the next mouse I buy seeing how my sidewinder X8 is sending itself to oblivion right about now... it lasted a long time

EDIT: and if it doesn't have changeable color ill end up un-soldering the LED and replacing it with a red one.

EDIT, AGAIN: I just wish there were more mouse manufacturers that used vertical thumb buttons instead of horizontal ones, the sidewinder X8 thumb buttons are the best ones I have ever used, it'll be hard to go back...

What's the difference between the 502 and the 402?

Different buttons, different technology, possibly a different sensor

A problem I see already.

Twin top shoulder buttons. Ineffective and nearly useless placement.

Stop doing this shit mouse makers.

2nd problem, thin rearbody ergonomics. A mouse with a "small ass" and raised spine like that isn't very comfortable to hold all the time. Logitech G5, G400 were great, stop throwing random holes and body shape changes at your mice logitech. There's a reason I don't use your mice anymore.

3rd problem for me specifically, I can't use a mouse anymore that doesn't have at least 6 side buttons.

4th problem if those are sensitivity only switches on the side, you're doing it wrong Logitech. Oh and a sniper specific button, hope that's a microswitch!

2/10 wouldn't buy or suggest.

I've already put my hands on something that's near perfection in my mouse preference. It's called the Naga Epic, and Naga HEX.
