Also, it would appear he deleted my comment about him and Stalin being BFFs. I've always assumed it might be a YouTube error when comments disappear, but this guy just flat out admits to it. He at least gets a point for that.

Because the majority of users either don't know how or lack the will to delete comments, even if they disagree with the person. Because the percentage of people who I comment to that also delete comments is so low it would be silly to stop commenting because of those few.
