I was about to delete my The Crew Beta game files, when I noticed a file called gear_gpu scores. According to these scores Nvidia is immensely favored over AMD.

AMD

AMD Radeon R7 240;982
AMD Radeon R7 250;1371
AMD Radeon R7 260X;2975
AMD Radeon R9 270;4237
AMD Radeon R9 270X;4473
AMD Radeon R9 290;6276
AMD Radeon R9 290X;6746

Nvidia

Nvidia GeForce GTX 760;5001
Nvidia GeForce GTX 770;6216
Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 Ti;8565
Nvidia GeForce GTX 780;8008
Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M;4257
Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan;7990

Of course this is only the beta, but those differences are once again quite large: ~27% between the high end cards.

We know Ubisoft and Nvidia Gameworks have signed a contract last month, but seeing these differences I can already see another s**tstorm coming Ubisofts/Nvidias way from AMD users once the game is released.

5.1GHz 4770k

My Specs

Intel i7-4770K @ 4.7GHz | Corsair H105 w/ SP120 | Asus Gene VI | 32GB Corsair Vengeance LP | 2x GTX 780Ti| Corsair 750D | OCZ Agility 3 | Samsung 840/850 | Sandisk SSD | 3TB WD RED | Seagate Barracuda 2TB | Corsair RM850 | ASUS PB278Q | SyncMaster 2370HD | SyncMaster P2450

TBH I doubt theese scores have any real impact on the game. its probs just to figure out a preset graphics settings when you first launch the game. But if they are using Nvidia only API then its to be expected.

If it goes how Watchdogs went. It wont work on anybody's PC  :P

Was only slightly interested in this game, and now that interest has all but gone.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

No m8. There's clearly a bias in programming here. I don't know of who's at fault (Nvidia or Ubisoft). I'm not saying goes it's Ubisoft..

But it's definitely Ubisoft.

With a 7750? How? I can only achieve the lowest settings at 720p, get +60FPS, but ridiculous amount of stuttering. And did I mention this is with a 590?

On topic: So they don't give a crap about optimizing for AMD GPUs, or just flatout cripple the performance of AMD GPUs? Just like Ubisoft crippled Watch dogs' performance on PC as opposed to current-gen consoles (Xbone, PS4)?

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

You said it yourself, beta means not optimised. Wait until the full game comes out with drivers for the game from both amd and nvidia before comparing the two

this is all part of Nvidia's plan, can't you see? They want to make all AMD users to go to them, then put amd out of business so they can slack with the gpus

You don't even want to see the intense stuttering while driving. Makes driving basically impossible.

To be fair the game ran pretty terribly for about anyone... My 780 classified was not happy playing the game @ 60 fps on ultra, you had to play with settings and you HAD to set the cpu affinity to atleast high for the process otherwise it stuttered horribly and was basically unplayable

I like this plan. I never liked AMD.

And then pay a buttload of money for a mid-range card, good plan!

I don't fucking care. I would take Nvidia over AMD any day. If I bought a prebuilt gaming build with an AMD card, I would flamethrow it and go with NVidia.

This argument is quite invalid for a BETA test, it's supposed to be unoptimized. Yes AMD might be pissed that they won't be able to optimize or make the game run better until way after the release and such, big deal Nvidia owners can't be happy about the long list of upcoming Mantle titles so it evens out.

In any case there's still time for them to optimize stop it with the wars until at least release date.

I didn't have any stutter on 30fps. you had to manually unlock 60fps so the game isn't optimized for that. And ultra? What do you think your 780 can do? sure the game and drivers aren't optimized, but ultras still ambitious.
