Sorry if this has already been posted, as I couldn't find this question already.

I am thinking about building a new system, kind of want it to last a least a few years for gaming, problem is that I am not sure if I should wait till DD4/series 5 or not.

Being a new technology, I am guessing the first revision will most likely be buggy and very expensive. I guess I am just wondering if anyone has an opinion on this issue, or is well informed on it.

The build I am thinking of doing is below:

If you think this is going to be redundant, and I should wait, please let me know.

Thanks in advance :).

DDR4 isn't worth waiting for, it will take a while for it to become mainstream, and the GTX800 series is coming in Q4 of this year, so you could wait for that.

Also, you have 2 CPU coolers on that list.

Psu is crap get a corsair, seasonic, coolermaster, antec etc

DDR4 is gonna be useless in gaming for the first few years (more or less)

The build you have there is quite solid but as pointed out i would wait for nvidia 800 series, either that or drop from the I7 to an I5 and get a better gpu.

Do you think dropping the CPU down to i5 would be alright? I keep hearing that games are starting to use multi-threading?

Like @dragoon20005 said where they are only starting its not going to make a huge difference and even the ones that do i havent seen HUGE gains from so its going to make very little difference at this point in time, with money you save to get a better gpu your going to see better performance anyway :)
