Best budget game capture device

I'm not really sure where to start with game capture stuff. The one Linus just reviewed caught my interest, but... I'm a noob at this and need some help.

 

So, as stated in the title, I'm looking for a budget friendly capture device. I will more than likely be using DVI for my monitor, and I would like to save the video to my hard drive (since I will be doing a lot of cuts and then stitching them together to upload to YouTube). I would like 1080p 60FPS, but 1080p 30FPS would be okay too.

 

I would prefer that the price be around $100 USD or less.

 

Sorry if this is a little difficult to follow, but I'm in a bit of a rush to hammer this out.

Why not just use AMD GameDVR?

You have an HD 7950, Tahiti, so it should run fine.

And one last question: Do I have to use the trainwreck known as Raptr/AMD Gaming Evolved app to use it?

Well... If there's minimal performance impact (using FRAPS now, what a CPU junkie) then I'll look at it.

I could say the same thing about GeForce Experience and Shadowplay.

Yes, you do have to use it.

 

There's also the Lagarith loss-less codec if you're dead set against using Raptr.

I don't feel Overwolf is taking much off. The drawback is that I think you have to install Teamspeak 3.

Now that you mentioned that, when I used Overwolf a few weeks ago it was terrible. But either way, I will be installing TS3.
