Same here, it might be a from the forum going down earlier today from WAN show, got a lot of pages that didn't want to load.

I Think, maybe someone who Didn't win the giveaway DDOS the forum lol or just too much traffic

@Windspeed36 enabled "beast mode" which kills off a lot of the forum's features (names as links, status, recent topics, member lists, tags, etc), but this way the forum will run more stable and be able to accommodate more people (up to 5,000).

As long as it needs to be, honestly. When he feels that traffic to the forum has reduced enough, he will take it back down a step to the way it was before (regular "performance" mode).

Might not be. Don't just assume "The forum is being goofy... HAXORS AGAIN!!!"

 

It's just all of the traffic from the giveaway, more than likely.

You'd be surprised how often popular forums get DDosed for no reason. Disabling hte search feature is a way to fix the issue there, that's why i suggested that. A lot of forums make you use a captcha to search. All of these profile functions actually use the forum's search function, and have been affected since search was turned off. This is likely to reduce database stress from a DDoS. 

(I don't assume HAxors without a good reason, I am a web developer, and originally majored in software engineering.)

We were getting hit quite often in December? or sometime around there.

 

But personally, I think it's the 600 or so pages of people that wanted to see if they won the laptop or not.

It is a possibility, i did forget about that. Just odd they'd disable search.

Basically the php function that does the search is the same function responsible for things like the "content I follow" sections.
