What would happen if you booted of a hard drive from a PS3?

Just wondering lol and dont have an extra computer to test it on. 

 

I know the PS3 uses 2.5 inch regular drives so.

 eGPU Setup: Macbook Pro 13" 16GB DDR3 RAM, 512GB SSD, i5 3210M, GTX 980 eGPU

New PC: i7-4790k, Corsair H100iGTX, ASrock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer, 24GB Ram, 850 EVO 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD, GTX 1080 Fractal Design R4, EVGA Supernova G2 650W

You wouldn't be able to, it would say no bootable media because the CPU architecture is way too different to run the same OS.

It just wouldn't boot. It doesn't matter what the physical size of the drive is either.

I believe consoles use regular drives with SATA interfaces.

Format as in file system architecture... Fat32, NTFS, HFS, exFat. Sorry for the term confusion.

You would be correct. You would need a 3rd party program to view the files on the hdd.

Oh, in that case I think it some kind of propriety file system, some people seem to think its a variation of FAT32, I really don't know for sure, I also doubt you will be able to mount it successfully.
