How do I root my LG Lucid?

I have the old LG Lucid and it's been a bit slow lately. It's battery life is terrible. I want to root my phone and install another ROM without losing data. I also want to Overclock. I know OCing is bad for battery life but I'll just find a new battery I think. So anyone know of any good guides for this? Also anyone have any ROMs to recommend?

Yes various times. I didn't see that one though. Thanks.

EDIT: Doesn't work. I'm on ubuntu. It said no such file or directory a few times and nothing happened.
