Will A-series CPUs not run on a AM4 socket A520/B550?

If it's not on a compatibility list sheet it won't. or if it does it'll likely be a tad bit problematic to handle. I wouldn't bother. Even slowest Ryzen 3s from Zen+ and 2s gens are way faster than Aseries, and on a used market they go for less than 50 bucks, sometimes even still under warranty.

Most of those chips have been dropped off the compatibility list. When I updated the BIOS on my B450 board to support 5000 series, there was a list of mostly the Athlon chips that will no longer be supported. If you were in a place where you really wanted an AM4 chip with integrated graphics, something like a 3400g would be a huge step-up from any of the Athlon chips. It's quite likely that a B550 or A520 board will support the 3400g as well, but you'd have to check the list on the particular motherboard you're looking at.

My Current Setup:

AMD Ryzen 5900X

Kingston HyperX Fury 3200mhz 2x16GB

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R

Arctic Fans 140mm x4 120mm x 1

No, that's for the older sockets. Also if you plan to game on the system, I would not recommend. This is a overview of what CPU's that's compatible with AM4:

These cpu's have been dropped from support since they are basicaly a VERY old leftover design from 2013 that was just there for integrated am4 systems at launch.

These cpu's are terrible btw for basically anything and should be avoided.
