If it's not the power brick, you are probably gonna have to get a new one, or manually repair the current one. Either way, sucks. :(

not even a month I think

Any power surges or spikes recently? If he can, I would just take it back to the store and say it is not working. It will be much quicker than having to go through Microsofts repair center.
