Which is the best brand R9 290?

Probably Gigabyte.  I'd definitely say Gigabyte, Asus is good but they get to hot they have an issue with their cooler on the AMD cards.

MSI or Asus I say, the Gigabyte fans aren't great and at high RPM they make really annoying noises.

What is your budget? The Tri-X from Sapphire is about the same price as the other R9 290. Personally I like the R9 290 Tri-X but the WindForce, DCUII, and MSI Gaming versions are also good.

Ok, just a quick question, which is the best brand r9 290? No Sapphire! It's too expensive. Unless I change something in my build. But I just wanna know what is the best r9 290 besides Sapphire. Thanks.

There aren't really any "bad" brands, there are better ones though. These 2 are good though: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r9290xedbd and http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-912v308001

Sapphire or Gigabyte/MSI, Asus is good but they have some of the worst RMA ever so there's that.

Vapor-X is great at cooling. Even in Crossfire. It is hands down the sexiest AMD card on the market...backplate, phase LEDs, color changing temp indicator. Don't go DCUII. They slapped the 780 cooler on it and it doesn't perform as well as the other solutions.

Sapphire is my favorite brand of AMD card I mean I have a 6850 and 7850, my mate has a 6970, my cousin has a vapour X 7950, my other mate has 7970's in CF and his older brother has an 290x. They are all Sapphire and are all great cards. in my opinion the best brand for AMD cards.

PC: Corsair C70 Arctic, FX 9370, Corsair H80i, Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3, Corsair Vengence 16gb, Palit JetStream GTX 970, OCZ Vertex 4 128gb and Western Digital Blue 1Tb + 500gb, Antec Gamer 520w

Go with the Sapphire R9 290 Vapor-X http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JJJW4Z2. Sapphire manufactures the most reliable AMD cards and the Vapor-X cooler is the best cooler on the market for the R9 290.

Do no get an XFX card, they look great but XFX has terrible cooling and though they have a nice warranty, their customer support and RMA process are a pain in the butt. I've had to return cards to them before.

Sapphire is all around the best manufacturer to go with when it comes to AMD cards.

Cooler Master HAF XB EVO, ASUS Maximus VII Hero, i7-4790K @ 4.5GHz, Corsair H100i, EVGA GTX 980Ti SC, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2X8GB 1866Mhz CL9, 2X Crucial M500 960GB, EVGA SuperNOVA 1050 GS, ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q w/ nVidia 3D Vision 2

Xfx has the best cooling of any card I have ever owned unless the 280x just doesn't get hot. I have it oc to 1200 core and 1700 memory and it stays under 66c at less than 60% fan speed and is DEAD silent. What is the last xfx card you owned?

You must be a very rare case then. I had the R9 280X and it completely died on me. The RMA process with XFX is horrible too.

Is XFX really that bad? I'm thinking of buying it becaused it's much cheaper than anything else, XFX is 2600 Croatian Kuna($465) and next cheapest one is MSI Gaming at 3100kn($555) which is out of my budget. My friend has R9 280x which seems to have the same cooler, and I really like it from what I've seen, it's beautiful and much, much quieter than my current Palit GTX460(I haven't seen any other higher end cards in person since 6970, so I can't compare it to something more similar)

EDIT: Sorry, I haven't seen the new thread, I'll post this there

You are probably right, it would be the first time I got lucky with a video card when it comes to OC'ing
