Those are some pretty good temperatures.

They are? :P I've seen youtube videos where people had 28-35 idle temps with the same cooler, that's why I'm wondering

For gaming that's great. I wouldn't worry about it.

They may have a different fan configuration (fans, speed, possibly case?)

Hmm I see, would chaning the thermalpaste do anything? I'm currently on the h100i stock

Bumb + What is the ideal configuration for the fans? Intake fan on top of the radiator? Exhaust fan on top of the radiator? Exhaust fan below the radiator?

I had my h100i in push/pull in my Corsair 350d, and I was getting the same temps as you. Well my max while playing a game was like 59C. If you live in a warm climate, it's not big deal. It's super hot here in DC, so I don't even look twice at temps.

Oh ok, I was just expecting idle temps of 30-35 because of the setups other people use, but it seems like 40 is normal

Seeing that the forecast for Greece is 30*C - 35*C for the coming days for the summer, 40*C is quite reasonable.

Typically, the idle temperatures are give or take ~10*C higher than ambient / room temperature.

The people with 30*C - 35*C have a room temperature of about ~24*C.

Of course, if you do any overclocking, the temperatures will be even higher.
