Why does this forum still allow WCCFTech articles to be posted as news?

Askew

I can think of a great reason why not to allow it, and that reason is the tendency for erroneous information.

I cannot however think of too many reasons why it is allowed, maybe some other users can point out some positives and help a brother out?

Every time I see one posted with the page below consisting of people having to point out the bad info by far kills any merit that a good and accurate article from them may have, especially when it's about something exciting like a new GTX range or AMD graphics or CPUs that people are really anticipating, because nobody knows whether they can trust it or not.

WCCF often come out very early with articles about hot upcoming things, it excites people and then it can later turn out to be bullshit (like the 'new AMD  12 core CPUs coming with half the TDP of FX') from 11 months ago, which got posted on this forum just the other day despite it's age and having been proven false in the meantime. (it was here, but it's been removed)

I thought I'd make a poll to see how many users want them to stay around, and how many want them to go away, I'm making it purely for interest's sake.

I want them to stay around there info might not always be accurate but recently it has and that post that just got deleted has another source making wccftech right http://www.guru3d.com/news_story/mystery_nvidia_graphics_card_spy_photos_surface.html

Edit: i have actually never seen an article from wccftech be wrong but ive only been into tech news section for about 4 or 5 months

Get a bunch of their articles from at least 2 years ago to allow followup, and then see how many were incorrect and to what degree.

That post wasn't deleted because of WCCFTech being their source, the post was deleted because it was a  re-post and the OP for some reason believed it was okay to make a new post for something that had already been covered because the original news post for the Nvidia card was, in his opinion, adequate.

The problem is, if Im just browsing the internet, and find this, id get excited. maybe if the news section had a recommend list of repetuable sources, but wasnt required. or a known list of non reliable sources.

I know the source i just added in my first post of this thread was from that thread he re posted but in his defence it had more info like the 880 has a 256 bit bus LIKE I TOLD EVERYONE!! anyways yea.

If I seriously thought that my findings would be acted upon I would consider doing so, however as I see it that would be a fair old timesink for potentially zero outcome.

I voted "banned" not because I necessarily think we should go to that extreme but because I think a clear tag or mention of the source in the title would save a lot of time for us all.

WCCFTech is clickbait crap.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch
