Are 4th of July sales a thing in the US?

I want to buy an R9 290 and I was wondering if I should wait for the 4th of July for sales, are there sales?

4th of July sales are 99% of the time furniture sales but I'd assume Newegg would do various deals.

yes, but usually just with furniture and cars, I wouldn't say its worth waiting

I found a 2011 ad that had a bunch of newegg sales, but maybe your right.

Just wait, you never know. I am waiting to get a headset and maybe he corsair k70. I really am not known for my patience  ;)

If you can just wait til the day after or the day before the 4th, I just say that because personally I am against buying anything on a holiday. Corporate leaders want to make every penny they can so if they are making money on a holiday or they see other companies are they will make the store level people work and be away from there family and kids on the holidays why they spend the day cooking out and with there family or golfing or being on some tropical island drinking a margarita on the beach. To them the people running the store are just a number that is a controllable expense on a spread sheet.
