Is there an SSD that is as fast as a HDD with similar storage capacities for the price and is just as cheap as a HDD or just a little more expensive. I would love if someone would make something like this as I don't like the sound of HDD's running.

If you just want the drive to be more quiet then WD Red's or WD Greens will be your best bet. They are currently the quietest drives I can find that aren't SSD's.

PS: Also look into using noise dampening foam in your case to reduce sound.

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

SSDs are fast because of the way they work, making them as slow as an HDD wouldn't make them any cheaper.

this. maybe just look for cheap used ones then would be your best bet. but what your saying doesn't exist.

its like a 4 cylinder compared to a v8, you cant detune the v8 to get the same mpg as the 4 cylinder.

500GB SSDs are like 200-230 bucks.

Yea I already own a 500GB Evo but what I want is something that I can use for mass storage like a 4TB SSD for the same price as a HDD or a little over. Has same performance as a HDD as well. Performance doesn't matter to me for mass storage as when I game it's off an SSD but all my programs otherwise are on the SSD. Some games go onto my SSD, games I keep installed stay on my SSD.

I might just get a bunch of used Ebay SSD's like the Sandisk ones and RAID 0 them for stupid performance. But even then the price is high. Corsairs LX is promising although it's not much cheaper than the EVO I bought. They could use a cheap controller and cheap flash to cut the costs but I would imagine the SSD would die quicker and that isn't what I want.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

If you have a lot of SD cards lying around this can do the job as well!
