Colorful Static On Main Monitor When Playing Youtube Video in Firefox

So as of a couple of days ago whenever I play a video on youtube in firefox as soon as the video loads my main monitor gets taken over by this strange multicolored static.  I can generally turn the monitor off then wait a second and turn it back on and it works fine until I play another video though once I did have to reboot my computer to get the static to go away.  It is always my main monitor and I have tried youtube in chrome and it works fine where as firefox produces this static every time.  I have no idea what could be causing this.

yea I would say catalyst driver. v14.4 and firefox don't seem to mix well at times. Try the 14.6 beta then revert to 14.2 if that doesn't work.

Flash player, firefox, and my graphics card drivers are all up to date.  Is there something else I should check to see if it needs to be updated?

if you got multi monitor setup

 

just run with one monitor and see if that static disappears

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

for a good measure 

 

try to get newer monitor cables 

 

a bad cable will cause this weird issue
