So yeah, title basically says everything.
Right now i'm looking at the

MSI GeForce GTX 780 Gaming 3GB DDR581896_230x230_0.jpg

Is it good? It's the cheapest i can find, and i'm a 14 year old student so my budget is limited.

It's a good card, all 780 have almost identical performance but some can overclock better.

but personally I would go for the Asus or Evga because they are a lot more quieter.

I'm from Finland and I buy from these sites usually... though I get 19% off because of VAT. but it's still cheaper than buying from Finland.

Twin Frozr cooler is already one of the quietest on the market, certainly quieter than EVGAs.

Twin froser is good, but spending a little more on something like a acx cooler or a windforce would not be bad, also if the nvidia features are not important to you you could save a bunch and get a 290 from team red

Dont know what these guys are saying the MSI Twin Frozr is quieter and just as good at least as the windforce and ACX coolers.

Alright, thank you sir :)

Really, the cheapest 780 with good performance is just the cheapest 780.

If the TF one is the cheapest around then don't hesitate, it's a good card, from a reliable company. IMO, paying extra because it's 3 decibels quieter under load, or 2 degrees cooler in Furmark is not worth it, the TF cooler can handle the GPU perfectly fine.

Welcome to the 14 year old club! The 780s from Gigabyte are quiet and cool. Having one, they are pretty good. I'm not sure about cost though.

i owned windforce HD7950, ACX GTX 680, (many other older cards as well off course LOL but i'm only talking recently here..) and now i run a twinfrozr gaming GTX 780 and it is HANDS DOWN much much much quieter then the windforce (wich is the loudest shit i ever owned) and somewhat noticibly quieter than the ACX cooler wich is not bad but i prefer the twinfrozr. but the 3 little fans on the windforce (and any other 3 small high pitch fans design i would assume) are the worse this world has to offer i will NEVER buy any 3 fans cooler again i hated every bit of it, it's huge, it'S long, it's inneficient, it's loud...it's shit...for real. Look at the biggest fans possible, that way they move more air and makes less noise, in that department the twinfrozr i think has two oversised fans that are actually bigger than the card if you look at pictures, they move a lot of air allowing you to run them at slower speed and have awesome thermals and whisper quiet operation...but even at 80% fan speed it's still reasonably quiet, something like a windforce can only dream about, even at 50% fanspeed that thing was to loud for my liking.

The Twin Frozr is the best at it's price point, the only other ones that are in the same price point are reference and a Zotac one (that's isn't bad it's just slightly noise and ugly looking). The problem is above 770/280x the Twin Frozr isn't uber quiet and is more towards the medium side. Great card overall though for the price.

mine must be different then cause it's a GTX 780 that i run fully overclocked on top of that and i need about 65% fanspeed to keep the card at 65c and it still whisper quiet at this speed i hear my CPU cooler a lot more than the GPU..

With 2x 95mm fans on my old GPU I kept them at 34% max (unless it exceeded 85). 39% was what the card would ramp up by default and I wasn't too happy about that so I can say 65% with 100mm fans is a hell no for me xD.

the bigger the fans the quieter they are, smaller fans tend to have higher pitch making them more noticeable and spin faster...i'm telling you i won't tolerate noise very well either and honestly this card is among the quietest i've ever owned and i owned well over a dozen of them.

Theirs a 5mm difference, it's not a huge difference. Bigger fans don't mean quieter, bigger fans mean more air can be pushed (more airflow, less static pressure unless the increase the thickness of the fan which is why I believe (don't quote me on this) smaller fans tend to make higher pitch noises) when spinning at a lower RPM. When both fans are spinning at the same RPM the bigger fan will be louder as it is pushing more CFM.

It might be quiet for you, but it's not quiet for me.
