how do i share a story in the forums?

hammerslap1

is there a certain format for sharing tech stories we find on the net? i created a post by copy pasting from a yahoo story and it seems the post got removed or something. i tried to give proper credit to the original posting site but im guessing it was removed due to improperly posting it.

You either put it in the wrong section or it was a repost and people reported it.

^This if it's tech related, post it in general discussions, other than that, Off topic section ;)

@hammerslap1

your topic: "potentialy bad news found on yahoo games" was already posted: http://linustechtips...oculus-replies/

on May 21, 2014 6:33 PM so rather than let something linger that was already reported

it was removed. generally, if a post or thread is removed, you'd want to contact the staff

of Linus Tech Tips.

would be best to review this link: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/11724-read-before-posting-in-this-section/  for references and needs

to post in the Tech News and Reviews section.

thank you airdeano....i had gone through a page or two of recent posts in the Tech news section and didn't see the same thing but maybe I wasn't looking in the right section or it just got past my eyes, i was more worried that maybe the way i had posted it had violated some copyright rules or something and wanted to be sure i wasn't doing it wrong in the future. and i will also look through that link you put to see what kind of things i need to do when posting to the tech news forum.
